Boucle was created during the late 1940's, by an industrial designer Eero Saarinen when Florence Knoll asked him to design her a chair that she could ‘really curl up in’ - and quite literally he created the just that. Thereafter, the trend became a HUGE deal when Coco Chanel flaunted her iconic jacket in the boucle fabric in Paris, 1954. Now in 2022, the trend has returned and is now a bigger deal than ever before in the world of interiors.
